Technical insight on how our decentralized WordPress works:
When you launch a WordPress instance on Flux, you are running at least three servers. Each server will run three components, Each with pre-assigned resources based on your chosen plan.
The following components are involved in a Web3 WordPress solution:
- WordPress: You will be running a pre-made docker with the latest version of WordPress (6.1.1), with NGINX as a web server.
- Flux Decentralized DB solution: This is based on MySQL, the preferred WordPress database.
- Flux Operator: This is the “brains” of the operation and is responsible for synchronizing the databases. It tracks the cluster created and reaches out to other nodes to identify the primary node and resync the database to keep it up to date. The Flux Operator obtains cluster information from the Flux Blockchain, enabling it to link nodes running the same WordPress instance.
- Syncthing: Flux uses Syncthing to synchronize files between nodes, specifically the WWW directories in the WordPress setup.
- Flux BlockChain: The Flux chain is where you register your WordPress instance; this is where the resource assignments are logged, the duration of hosting, custom domains that were chosen and where all running instances are stored, and more…
- Flux FDM: Flux Domain-Manager is responsible for domains, certificates, and load balancing across the entire Flux Network.
