The year was 2021. Barely after a 24hr notice, Parler was kicked off AWS servers and vanished from the internet (at least for some time). While the concerns behind this action could be argued, it was a crucial moment that unveiled a corporatist grasp on the centralized internet.”

Cloud computing signified a massive breakthrough for business on the internet. Instead of having to set up and maintain expensive infrastructure and servers, business owners could readily outsource to cloud services and shorten their time to market. Amazon AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft quickly became the most prominent names in this space, with over 34% of the top 100,000 websites running on AWS alone as of 2021.

However, using a centralized cloud comes at a cost.

When AWS services went offline for the third time in the same year (2021), businesses running on the provider suffered a combined loss running into billions.

Besides server outages and downtimes, most centralized providers operate a form of ‘lock-in.’ This is a system in which an application running on a cloud service is adapted to run efficiently only on that infrastructure. While this means improved performance, it is harder for clients to transfer their applications to other cloud providers. They are “locked in,” even if they end up dissatisfied with rising costs in the long run.

Well, until Flux.

For the people, By Flux.

Flux offers a decentralized cloud hosting network to deploy any hardened dockerized application globally. If it can fit in a docker container, it can run on Flux.

The decentralized nature of Flux nodes, both in architecture and geography, ensures applications can remain online even if the nodes they are running on fail. The whole system is built to be automatically redundant with no single point of failure. DApps can run seamlessly on the Flux cloud infrastructure regardless of their original blockchain, thanks to the interoperability of FluxOS, the ecosystem operating software.

Unlike the steep price tags many other cloud providers place on their services, Flux provides cloud solutions that can go as low as (0.22) Flux a month. Also, since we understand the need for businesses to be able to budget down in USD, Flux is now working on a fiat-payment ramp for users to pay directly in fiat (which is then automatically processed back to Flux in the backend).

One Stop For All Your Needs.

Want DropBox on steroids? Use FluxDrive

FluxDrive is a decentralized storage solution that allows you to store your data securely on the cloud for as long as you want! This new addition to the Flux ecosystem rides on Flux Interplanetary File System and offers three different cloud storage tiers and a fiat payment.

Flux is rolling out decentralized WordPress. This is a game changer for apparent reasons; Wordpress, a content management software powers roughly 70% of all websites on the internet. With WordPress running on Flux, users can host their websites on a fast, scalable, and decentralized infrastructure that stays online all the time and for many affordable prices.

Flux also recently released Geolocation 2.0, a new feature that allows users to choose specific locations from where they want their application instances to run. This enables business owners to effectively manage and channel computational resources to locations where their business experiences higher demand.

Flux’s solid computational network makes it a prime choice for deploying blockchain nodes and game servers. With FluxOS’ recent upgrade, customers can run complicated applications across the network that are automatically synced across all instances in real-time. Bridging Web2 and Web3

The future of the internet is a synergy between Web2 and Web3, where strengths can be exchanged, and weaknesses minimized. In Daniel Keller’s (Flux co-founder) exact words:

“Our team at Flux is not maximalist, and we believe working with Web2 and Web3 will benefit users of both platforms.”

As such, Flux retains strong partnerships with leading players in the Web2 ecosystem, including Nvidia, Lumen Technologies, Seeed Studio, and OVHcloud. These partnerships enable Flux to provide decentralized solutions for businesses regardless of whether they run on Web2 or on the blockchain.
