Flux in Review: May Report
The month of May is peculiar for several reasons. May 1 is internationally recognized as Workers’ Day, and it is also the month when the United States celebrates Armed Forces Day. May marks a remarkable event in the realm of blockchain technology and Cryptocurrency.
On May 22, 2010, a software developer named Laszlo Hanyecz made the first documented “crypto-for-goods” transaction. In this review, let us journey through Flux’s timeline during the defining month of May.
Mayhem is coming.
The exponential growth of artificial intelligence across all domains is no longer news. Just like the race to the moon, the competition to develop the most advanced AI model has prompted significant players such as Open AI, Google, Microsoft, and others to showcase their capabilities. Unfortunately, while generative AI offers a new way to execute projects faster and reduce costs, it has also become a playground for malicious actors.
A few weeks ago, a fake AI-generated image depicting the Pentagon exploding went viral, causing a temporary plummet in stock prices. Prior to that, a phony track purportedly created by The Weeknd and Drake was released. The potential danger of these ‘deep fakes’ highlights the need for a truth model in AI that enables users to detect, identify and differentiate reality from fabricated content.
Introducing Project Mayhem.
Project Mayhem provides a solution to balance the explosive growth of AI with responsible usage. Powered by Flux, this new technology will create a launchpad for products aimed at helping individuals use generative AI responsibly. Learn more about Project Mayhem here.
Operation Paws for Homes
Flux is dedicated to making a difference, extending beyond the realm of Web3. In May, Daniel Keller, Co-founder of Flux, participated in Operation Paws for Homes. This organization rescues dogs and cats from overcrowded shelters, providing for them until they find permanent homes.
Paws for Homes was one of the beneficiaries of Flux’s first-ever charity auction in March, and Dan presented the donation in person. We express our sincere gratitude to the Flux community and everyone that participated in the auction.
Flux meets Mises Browser:
Adding an exciting twist to May, Flux was integrated into the Mises browser, the first mobile Web3 browser with extension support. Mises brings the Web3 experience to mobile devices, allowing users to integrate Chrome extensions like MetaMask and ensure the security of smart contracts.
It also supports Web3 Dapp’s aggregation of more than 400 mainstream Dapps. Mises focuses on developing Web3 infrastructure, and Flux is proud to be a part of their story. You can download the browser here.
Iron Fish and More
Iron Fish is a publicly accessible blockchain project that emphasizes digital privacy and accessibility while utilizing the Proof-of-Work consensus, you can deploy the iron fish full node on the Flux marketplace with just a few clicks.

New Listings
As the Flux ecosystem expands, $Flux has been listed on several exchanges in May. These exchanges include Biconomy, a global digital asset trading platform, XT.com, TradeOgre, CoinW, and Bitmart. In addition, Flux also announced the lucky winner of the Flux Titan NFT watch from the charity auction held in March. Other participants have also won freebies like Flux Merch and free tickets to our Cypherpunk conference.
Upgrades
In May, Fluxbench V3.40.0 was released on Testnet, offering additional functionalities. These include improved error messages and synced benchmarks after executions. The upgrade introduces memory testing and detects hardware information before connecting with FluxOS.
The release of Fluxbench V3.40.01, however, has been a game-changer. This latest version supports any Docker registry, removing the previous sole reliance on Docker Hub. Now, you can use any registry, including Amazon ECR, Azure ECR, GitHub package repositories, and more!
Additionally, users can now host their docker registry directly on Flux. Port improvements have been made, and the software will now run an application mount test to determine the capability of a node to run applications.
Flux Daemon was also upgraded to v6.2.0, which improves wallet nodes, optimizes node RPC calls, and provides better security against denial of service (DOS) attacks.
These upgrades collectively offer better performance, enhanced optimization, and a more robust experience for users across the network.
