ZelLabs Announces NEO Smart Economy Partnership for Platform & Project Development

NEO, GAS, and NEP-5 assets will be integrated into the ZelCore multi-asset wallet

NEO Project & ZelLabs Partnership

The NEO Project is partnering with Zel through the ZelLabs program, the partnership-building wing of the Zel Project. Zel will add NEO, GAS, and NEP-5 assets to the ZelCore wallet for custody management, similar to the ZelCore integration of Ravencoin assets earlier.

NEO, GAS, and NEP-5 asset holders will be able to store all their favorite smart economy assets, along with 150+ crypto assets on all major desktop and mobile platforms under a single, unified account within the ZelCore platform.

Through ZelLabs, NEO and Zel will co-market both of our great ecosystems together and continue developing our partnership to leverage each others’ unique technologies. The NEO assets will be integrated into the ZelCore platform and available free-to-use in a future software release.

What is the NEO Project/Smart Economy?

NEO is an open source project driven by the community. It utilizes blockchain technology and digital identities to digitize assets and automate the management of digital assets using smart contracts. Using a distributed network, it aims to create a “Smart Economy”.

NEO was founded in 2014 and open sourced on GitHub in June 2015. Its MainNet was released in October 2016 and has been running in stable capacity for two years. Its vision of a “smart economy” was set up along with the project rebranding in 2017.

Through NEO’s EcoBoost initiative, the project is looking to raise and distribute funding to developers, dapp creators, and infrastructure hosts to support the growth and development of the NEO ecosystem.

What this means for Zel

This partnership allows NEO holders to trade and store their NEP-5 assets easily in ZelCore, and introduce both projects to each respective community. Ongoing development and co-marketing will help speed adoption of both the Zel and NEO ecosystems, helping speed up adoption of both projects within the crypto space.
