FluxDrive Pro — Decentralized Storage for DApps and NFTs
Flux launched FluxDrive Pro, featuring a highly sought-after decentralized storage solution: API-based IPFS. This new product of the Flux ecosystem will provide decentralized, scalable, and resilient storage at competitive prices. The addition of API-based IPFS makes it simpler for Web3 developers to run their dApps on the Flux network and will enable further growth of the Flux ecosystem.
Today, Flux is introducing a new advanced product, FluxDrive Pro.
This innovative product harnesses the power of APIs and is strategically tailored for clients in the developer sector. Its launch will commence in a closed environment, exclusively available to specific partners within the Flux ecosystem.
Major storage providers such as Filecoin, Storj, and Infura rely on API infrastructure for their IPFS services, offering developers a seamless experience for bulk uploading and user-friendly operations. In response to this industry trend, Flux will complement the current FluxDrive offering by introducing API access.
Application developers can use FluxDrive Pro to store data in a fully decentralized manner and leverage the power of Web3 to avoid data loss, censorship, or de-platforming. Their application instances running on Flux can read/write data directly to the decentralized cloud. Especially for NFT projects, where the storage of immutable NFT data is essential, FluxDrive Pro presents itself as the ideal solution. Whether it involves images, audio files, or videos, FluxDrive Pro offers complete support.
Flux is committed to aligning our offerings with those in the competitive storage market to position the Flux Cloud solution as the market leader in Web3 infrastructure. The addition of API-based IPFS to the Flux ecosystem marks the delivery of yet another important milestone on the journey to a fully realized Web3.
What is ‘API-based IPFS’?
IPFS is an acronym for ‘Interplanetary File System’. It is an open-source, peer-to-peer storage solution that allows data to be stored across a decentralized network of storage nodes.
Traditionally, when you need to access data on the Internet, you tell your computer where the data is stored by accessing a URL address. The URL specifies which server the data is present on and what the path to the specific file is.
With IPFS, you access data by defining what data you need. Each piece of data on IPFS has a unique hash (identifier). When you ask for a specific amount of data on IPFS, the system will find the nodes where the data is hosted and then provide the data. So, the data on IPFS isn’t in a specific place; it could be on any node and divided across several nodes.
So, on IPFS, what is immutable, you always get the data corresponding with the requested hash. While the where is dynamic, the data lives on a decentralized network and not on a few servers in a centralized data center.
IPFS is a very secure system with built-in encryption. Due to its decentralized nature, it is scalable, efficient, and resilient to data loss.
An API is an ‘Application programming interface’ that enables different software to communicate. So when an IPFS system incorporates API features, it makes it simpler for developers to utilize the IPFS storage for their application development, i.e., telling their applications what data to interact with and how.
What does FluxDrive Pro bring to the Flux ecosystem?
IPFS has been in open-source development since 2015 and is a robust and efficient decentralized storage solution. By incorporating this technology into the Flux ecosystem and combining it with the about 12,000 Flux nodes with more than 8 petabytes of storage, you get a compelling decentralized storage solution.
It brings very developer-friendly features through API integration. Developers can utilize FluxDrive Pro for data backup, content distribution, NFT Storage, and more. And all in a very secure manner with encryption and control of user access rights.
By being decentralized, FluxDrive Pro brings the same advantages as other Flux products by being highly scalable, resilient, and cost-effective.
Overall, FluxDrive Pro is an essential feature for developers coming into the Flux ecosystem, and it will support the continued adoption and growth of Web3.
Hypercent is the first project to utilize FluxDrive Pro
FluxDrive Pro launches in partnership with HyperCent.
Hypercent empowers projects to launch their tokens and NFTs on Kadena, the most scalable and secure Proof-Of-Work blockchain in the Web3 space. It provides a seamless NFT solution that covers everything from minting to launching to trading NFTs on the open market.
FluxDrive Pro will be part of the toolkit utilized by Hypercent when they help projects launch into Web3 on Kadena. For example, if Hypercent assists the launch of a new NFT project, then the required scalable, immutable, and secure decentralized storage will be provided by FluxDrive Pro. , when a collection is minted on Hypercent, the images are stored on FluxDrive Pro.
Initially, FluxDrive Pro will be available to exclusive partners like Hypercent. Working in a closed environment with partners will enable Flux to test and improve FluxDrive Pro before launching it to the general public. The ease of use and utility of FluxDrive Pro is critical, and Flux is committed to building the best possible product by engaging with talented teams in the Web3 development community.
“NFTs stored on centralized infrastructure are just jpegs, pics, and content. When you unleash the power of Flux, NFTS becomes real decentralized ownership and digital authentication. The Flux community gives two shits about projects that do not put decentralization and personal ownership first! Hypercent does just that, brings the true power of NFTs to your wallet, your keys, your NFT” Daniel Keller- CEO InFlux and CoFounder of Flux.
