Flux Signs The Supporter Letter to Crypto Climate Accord.
At Flux, We fully support the push for more sustainable solutions in blockchain. That is one of the core reasons Flux is pioneering ‘Proof of Useful Work,’ new sustainable technology for Proof of Work blockchains. Flux is always looking for like-minded partners that share the Flux ethos and the passion for innovation. Flux is signing the support letter to Crypto Climate Accord to forge new partnerships in the quest for environmentally sustainable blockchains.
Flux is actively running and building the required infrastructure for the next iteration of the decentralized Internet, Web3. It’s a labor of love, driven by a strong ethos of decentralization and a desire to build a better tomorrow for our children where they can own their data, have privacy, and are not forced to trust major centralized actors like big tech corporations.
A better future, however, is not solely based on decentralization. Unfortunately, our World has many other challenges to solve. The current energy crisis and climate change have again brought a negative focus on blockchain and, in particular, Proof of Work.
Some believe that by switching off Proof of Work, we can somehow make our problems disappear. At Flux, we believe blockchain and Proof of Work are part of the solution to those challenges. It is never the solution to ignore the potential of technology and close your mind to innovation.
One of the major development projects at Flux is ‘Proof of useful work.’ It’s an iteration of Proof of Work that takes the computing power needed to secure the blockchain and turns it into solutions for real problems. Research, rendering, machine learning, and many other computationally intensive tasks that need to be done are to be carried out by GPUs in crypto mining rigs. This will create much value for everyone involved while simultaneously saving energy.
Overall, decentralization can make cloud computing more efficient and reduce many inefficient overheads in the cloud market.
As Flux Co-Founder Daniel Keller puts it: “Thomas Edison once put out a warning, ‘Fooling around with alternating current’s just a waste of time. Nobody ever uses it. Too dangerous!’. We know now that he was wrong about that, as our houses are chock full of electrical A/C plugs. People quickly demonize something they do not understand and then replace it with something they do. They do it out of their best intentions, believing they protect us from harm. Dismissing new technology is the real danger here. Ignorance isn’t the future; innovation is!”.
Flux is always looking for like-minded partners that share the Flux ethos and the passion for innovation. We want a better future but don’t need to build it alone.
We're committing to the Crypto Climate Accord to do our part in building innovative climate-sustainable blockchain solutions. We hope this will help us find new partners in pursuing better and more sustainable technology.
The Crypto Climate Accord is a private sector-led initiative for the entire crypto community focused on decarbonizing the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry in record time. Over 200 companies and individuals spanning the crypto and finance, technology, NGO, and energy and climate sectors have joined the Crypto Climate Accord as Supporters.
Flux is happy to help build a more sustainable future and a more decentralized world.
We invite you to learn more about Flux.
Flux is fueled by community, so we invite you to come to take part. All are welcome, and it doesn’t matter if you’re interested in technology, an investor, a developer, or just like to make crypto memes all day. Flux needs all kinds of people to participate in the decentralized future.
If you want to deploy your application on Flux, get started and join the many other fully decentralized applications on Flux.
Come check out the official Flux website hosted on the Flux decentralized network. Learn about the Flux ecosystem and see what’s on offer. Check out how to run Flux nodes or how to mine Flux.
If you want to witness what Flux has built so far, visit the Flux network dashboard and see how many nodes we’ve got online, check out the massive resources available to the network, see what decentralized apps are running and what the current rewards are for Flux node operators.
And also, please do stop by the Flux discord to meet the Flux team and community and discuss all things Flux; we’re always on the lookout for new community members or developers.
