Flux Review: August Timeline
August highlighted new achievements and milestones in the Flux ecosystem even as we approach the biggest Web3 conference of the year! In this review, let’s travel through Flux’s memorable moments of the past month.
Open Sesame:
August kicked off with a blast! Flux officially crossed the 2000+ unique DApps milestone. Our decentralized cloud infrastructure is home to over 2000 applications ranging from blockchain nodes and game servers to DeFi applications. As the Flux ecosystem proliferates, we are more committed to prioritizing decentralization, optimal performance, and enabling unparalleled accessibility for every application hosted on Flux Cloud. Need peak performance at cost-effective rates? Deploy your application on Flux.
Flux Domain Manager:
Also, our engineers built and released the updated Flux Domain Manager in August. The release of FDM was targeted at addressing the scaling needs of the Flux ecosystem. Over the years, our network has grown massively. Therefore, the new FDM update leverages application sharding and supports application-splitting to provide users an optimal blend of flexibility and scalability consistently. Flux is also migrating to its own PowerDNS setup, which is critical to becoming self-sufficient and lays the foundation for long-term stability.
FluxLabs RoundTable:
Another highlight was the second edition of the FluxLabs roundtable with partner projects. This sequel had the participation of different partners, including KadCars, a 3D NFT racing project; BlockSquare, a blockchain enabler for the tokenization of real-life assets; Ledgermail, a decentralized mail project on Web3, and Terra hosting, the world’s first community-driven data center. Tech Fleet, an Ed-Tech that helps new entrants break into the tech space, and Secret Garden of Kadena, a Web3 gaming ecosystem, were also fully represented.
The roundtable revisited the core focus of each project and shared current development tips across individual projects and the blockchain/Web3 ecosystem at large. In case you missed it, here you go.

Folding@Home Competition Winners:
Flux also took its support for the Folding@home project to the next phase when it announced a massive ‘‘Fold n’ Win” competition in August. The competition ran until the 31st of August and saw 851 unique Folding@home apps deployed, bringing the total number of Folding@home applications on the Flux network to well over 4,000. These applications will help simulate more protein folding problems and provide the computing power to drive medical research into fighting diseases. The winners of the “Fold n’ Win” competition were announced at the State of the Union AMA last week.
FluxOS Upgrades:
Following the new weekly upgrade schedule, in August, we rolled out several FluxOS upgrades, each optimizing different components of the Flux network. Version 4.6.0 and v4.7.0 significantly improved the messaging process, verification, and broadcasting. v4.9.0 optimized caching options on the network and introduced custom FDM domains for each node on the network. V4.10.0 added new functionality to the Flux marketplace, notifies the network when an application is removed from a node, and improves the accuracy of application locations. With each of these upgrades, the Flux network moves a step closer to becoming the dream infrastructure for powering decentralized applications.
Upcoming Snapshot:
Last month, Flux announced the return of its Flux-o-ween snapshot for the 10th parallel asset of the Ecosystem. All Flux holders (either locked in Zelcore, Flux Nodes, CoinMetro, or Titan Nodes, etc.) are eligible for this snapshot which will take place on the 31st of October, 2023.
The reward for the new parallel asset will be approximately 4% of your Flux holdings at the time of the snapshot. The more Flux you hold, the more Parallel assets you can earn. Here’s more about the upcoming Snapshot.
New FluxLab Partners and Listings:
Flux was listed on the Changero exchange in August, while FluxLabs also onboarded two new projects: VETME KYC and Neurai. VETME KYC is a DeFi platform that offers advanced options for handling Escrow services, OTC Dex, and a wide range of KYC solutions. Neurai, on the other hand, aims to leverage the capabilities of AI algorithms for improved data analytics, predictive modeling, and connectivity to IoT devices using blockchain assets. The project offers a vital connection between the potential of Artificial intelligence and the decentralization Web3 offers. Neurai blockbook, full nodes, and Electrum server are already running on Flux Cloud. Here’s how to deploy them via Flux Marketplace.
And there you have it for August! For more information on Flux, please join our Discord and check our official website. Visit our marketplace to easily host and run front-ends, nodes, block books, crypto projects, and games with just a few clicks. Flux is very active on Twitter.
