Flux in Review: October Report.
October ushered in several ground-breaking additions to the Flux Ecosystem. Let’s review the critical moments that kicked off Q4 2023 in grand style in this review.
One Wallet, Multi-Signatures.
“Not your key, not your wallet” is a common phrase highlighting the importance of private keys in the ownership of digital assets. With centralized wallets, private keys remain in the service provider's possession. Unfortunately, in the case of a crippling hack or bankruptcy of the wallet provider, users may lose access to their funds forever.
In October, Flux unveiled an unconventional solution: SSP Wallet. This self-custodial, multi-asset wallet combines advanced, industry-standard security features with an intuitive, user-focused interface.
The technology crystallizes Flux’s efforts to make Web3 technology accessible to the average user. While retaining the fundamentals of usability, SSP offers powerful multi-signatory capabilities and restores the true ownership of digital assets back to the people. It also provides a low-entry barrier to help new users transition into the Web3 world.
SSP is open-source, allowing experienced developers worldwide to contribute and build the Web3 future together. Interestingly, it also offers a good use case for crypto-based organizations to leverage a decentralized system for allocating digital resources to teams.
SSP wallet is available as a Chrome extension and can be synced with different decentralized applications. In case you missed it, here is a full showcase of the wallet.

New FluxOS Upgrades:
FluxOS also had several upgrades in October. Version 4.13.0 extended official support to more Linux distributions, plus new NodeJS and MongoDB versions.
FluxOS now officially supports Ubuntu 18.04, 20.04, 22.04, NodeJS 16 ,18, 20 and MongoDB 4.4, 5.0, 6.0 and 7.0
Other successive upgrades introduced new features like the blockedRespository property, which allows node operators to block organizations they don’t want running on their FluxNodes. There were also significant improvements to the application management user interface and the general codebase.
Flux-Bitcoin Is Here!
October 31st marked the snapshot for the ecosystem’s 10th Parallel asset and the ‘grand-daddy’ of them all–Flux-Bitcoin. Flux-BTC signifies a colossal breakthrough and positions Flux as a first adopter of taproot asset technology.
Powered by the Lightning network, Flux-BTC will deliver instantaneous crypto-payment settlements and enable users to process high-volume transactions using low fees in record time.
What’s more?
Flux now hosts the entire Bitcoin infrastructure; whether it’s full nodes, mainnet, testnets, signets, or blockbooks, you can run all on Flux.
Flux-BTC will also support atomic conversions, allowing users to swap between Flux and the Bitcoin network in one swift, effortless move. Every holder (native $Flux and Parallel assets) participating in the last Flux-o-ween snapshot will be eligible to receive approximately 3.7 Flux-BTC per 100 $Flux held.
Snapshot data will be available on Fusion very soon while the new Parallel asset will be distributed in 2024.
Zelcore Acquisition and Rebranding
October also saw the acquisition and merging of Zelcore into InFlux technologies. This strategic move will consolidate footprints in the Web3 industry and facilitate the accessibility of affordable cloud solutions to users globally.
Zelcore has now been rebranded to “Core Wallet” with fresh colors and a new logo as part of the process.
The merger is set to be finalized before the close of 2023 and will introduce a more inclusive wallet that will accommodate new PoUW features, including a PoUW marketplace and more.
SSP VS Core Wallet?
SSP wallet and Core wallet target two different demographics. The SSP wallet is designed to be the top secure, intuitive wallet that helps new and current users navigate the Web3 industry by abstracting the complex technicalities for which the industry is known.
On the other hand, Core wallet will handle the heavy demands of Flux Proof of Useful Work and encapsulate several other features into one compact application.
October laid an essential foundation for new Flux products, innovations, and collaborations that will shake up the Web3 industry. We are committed to powering the vision of the decentralized future. And there’s more to come!
