In March, Flux began laying the framework for the next phase of the decentralized vision. In this article, we will review the key moments and their significance for the ecosystem and the tech sector at large.

FluxEdge Alpha Release

One of the top highlights of March was the closed Alpha release of the long-anticipated compute marketplace, FluxEdge. Designed to meet the needs of users who require compute resources to run intensive projects, the marketplace offers a decentralized, peer-to-peer approach to scalability and infrastructural supply.

FluxEdge is positioned to address the dynamic computing demands of emerging industries like AI and machine learning by facilitating direct access to compatible hardware at affordable pricing. Users specify their project’s requirements and are immediately matched with compatible providers. The platform will also support industry-standard tools like Jupyter Notebook, Ollana, Grafana, and more.

The Alpha release aims to test the marketplace in a more diverse environment and collect valuable feedback on all market aspects. This will guide the development team in optimizing useability and other elements, including workload deployment, payment system, and pricing. FluxEdge Alpha closed release is only available to a select few at the moment. Still, it will be open to include more testers as we enter the next iteration of the application.

The FluxEdge economic model (version 1), which details customer and provider strategies alongside reward systems, is also currently available here.

Liquidity Pool and Upgrades.

Four months ago, Flux released the 11th parallel asset of the ecosystem, Flux-Base, to facilitate Flux native users’ interaction with the Base network. The network has since demonstrated incredible resilience and massive growth potential, surviving last year’s bear market and soaring over 200% to a new TVL of over $300 billion. Last month, Flux started a new Flux-Base liquidity pool on Uniswap v3 to consolidate trading interaction between the two chains and open up potential opportunities to use CoinbasePay.

March also saw the release of FluxOS v5.0.0., a significant upgrade that introduced a new range of flexibility to application deployment on Flux. Now, users can deploy applications on FluxOS home UI and pay directly in fiat using Stripe or Paypal. This alternative payment method includes a restructured price model pegged to the USD to ensure convenient and stable forecasting.

The Fiat payment option is targeted toward increased adoption, removing ‘the tech out of the way’’ to allow new users to seamlessly transition into adopting decentralized technologies.

Partnerships And Sponsorships

TImpi (a former FluxLabs project) is now a strategic Flux partner. TImpi is a decentralized platform with a vision to democratize the world’s access to information, and it will work with Flux in accordance with our shared ideals.

Flux also partnered with 3DNS, an on-chain domain registrar and management platform that provides users with decentralized, Web2/Web3-compatible domains. Registered domains are safely secured in users’ wallets as NFTs, making them immune to social engineering attacks that centralized DNS solutions providers may fall prey to.

Flux’s high availability and incredible uptime, combined with the security offered by 3DNS domains, make for an unbeatable combination for users.

Another vital partnership of March was with Nicehash, the world’s leading hash rate marketplace. This partnership will introduce FluxCore, the Flux Proof of Useful Work client application, to miners on the Nicehash platform, enabling them to switch from mining to renting out their machines for POUW jobs. FluxCore will also feature the iconic Nicehash “play” button. This symbiotic relationship will drive increased exposure for both companies and reward users with even more profits.

Sponsorships

Flux is officially a gold sponsor for Token2049, a global crypto conference featuring top decision-makers and innovators in the industry. The meeting, which will be held in Dubai from April 18–19th, will also feature Daniel Keller (CEO & Co-founder of Influx Technologies) as a keynote speaker. The sponsorship re-iterates Flux’s position on network building across the industry to deepen ties between key players and drive collaboration.

Flux is now the official Sponsor for two United Football League (UFL) teams: the D.C. Defenders and St. Louis Battlehawks. The UFL season, which kicks off on Saturday, March 30th, will provide an incredible opportunity for Flux to actively engage with fans, promote the synergy between technology and sports, and drive excitement around Flux’s decentralized technology.

And there you have it for March! Last month, we brokered four major partnerships, released a significant upgrade to FluxOS, and launched the Alpha release of FluxEdge. But we are not stopping. The future is here, and we are ready—one tech at a time.
