Last month for Flux was one of fresh momentum and a renewed drive to expand the decentralized offerings of the ecosystem. In this article, let’s review the timeline for January and our achievements so far.

For the first month of the year, Flux’s primary focus was upgrading and improving the products released in the last quarter of 2023. In addition, new game servers are now available on Flux’s decentralized infrastructure.

FluxCore Alpha Updates

The Alpha version of our PoUW client app, FluxCore, was released towards the end of last year and has racked up impressive usage metrics with over 18,103 benchmarks (at the time of writing this article).

As expected, our users have been generous with their feedback regarding the software’s performance on different machines since its launch. Therefore, the FluxCore Dev team released the first update patch to FluxCore Alpha in January. This patch introduced additional enhancements to overclocking and the software installation functionalities.

Subsequent upgrades also implemented features like automatic updates for remote machines, adjustable fan speeds for Nvidia GPUs on Windows, and more.

Another essential set of features with the update patches released in January includes wallet integration for miners, improved mining management, and custom GPU overclocking profiles to allow users to create, save, and apply unique overclocking settings for specific GPUs. The development team also fixed reported issues and bugs with each update patch released.

SSP Open Beta

The SSP open beta was released on January 13, 2024, and was tested by 200 users (100 iOS/100 Android). The feedback from this testing phase played an essential role in the full release of the multi-sig wallet-key pair, which occurred yesterday, February 7th.

Flux 2024 Roadmap Unveiling

In an AMA session last month, Davy Wittock (Chief Business Officer) and Dan Keller (Co-founder) also unveiled the roadmap for 2024, which detailed Flux’s big vision for 2024 and the specific projects the ecosystem will be rolling out.

Important roadmap highlights include the entire release candidate of Decentralized WordPress, SSP wallet exiting Beta for full launch, Project Juggernaut, Primetime Phase 2, FluxEdge release, and more.

Plans are also in place for implementing multisig Flux Nodes and releasing Titan Nodes 2.0. You can watch the AMA session here or access the roadmap on the official website.

FluxOS Upgrades

FluxOS upgrades resumed in January after the holiday break, and v4.25.0, v4.25.1, v4.26.0, v4.27.0, v4.27.1, v4.27.2 and v4.28.0 have all been released. (Details can be found on the Flux GitHub.)

These upgrades introduced improvements across the home UI, docker checks, new API endpoints, and information about node versions.

Other functionalities include more options on the Flux marketplace and optimized primary/secondary instance assignments.

FluxOS upgrades enhance the stability of the Flux operating software, ensuring the maximum performance of decentralized nodes on the network.

New Games On Flux

Palworld now runs on Flux! You can easily deploy your Palworld game server on Flux Web3 infrastructure for as low as 9.99 $FLUX.

When you deploy any of your game servers on Flux, it runs across three synchronized yet separate nodes: a primary node and two standby nodes in other locations.

These standby nodes ensure you can continue your game without losing data even if the primary node fails. Your server also automatically updates to the latest version of the game as soon as it is available. To start deploying your Palworld server on Flux, check out this article.

Enshrouded, a new survival action RPG game by Keen Games Studio, is now available on our decentralized network; the cost is only 16.5 $Flux per month.

Streamr Pricing Update and More…

The Streamr 1.0 node deployment pricing on Flux was updated last month with incredible discounts for new subscriptions. New subscribers are now eligible for discounted prices ranging from 19.05 $FLUX per month to 160.02 $FLUX per year. Head over to the Flux marketplace to deploy your Streamr node on Flux. The FluxCore GPU contest, which started last December, was also concluded in January, with Ten Nvidia card miners in the community winning a total of 10,000 $FLUX across five different categories. Congratulations to them.

And there you have it for January. Flux has a lot in store for the community and the technology space this year, and we are just getting started!
