This year has been huge so far, and next year will be even bigger for ZelCash, ZelCore, and the entire Zel Community

As of today, ZelCash has existed for just 11 months. In this time span, so much has been accomplished both by the Zel Team and the Zel Community. This article will recap some of the major completed milestones for both ZelCash and ZelCore, and outline what milestones are planned for 2019.

Many thanks to the Zel Community and a Happy New Year to all!

  • Continued development of d2FA and the Zel ID system for more use cases

There are many more milestones not mentioned here for brevity, but these are the main components for the Zel Project that were completed by the team in 2018. As you can see, there is quite a lot of development so far, with much more to come. Next year will be the culmination of all of 2018’s hard work. As Chief Strategy Officer Daniel Keller said:

We are just getting started and the tech that is being developed will change how we view, use, and exchange value. ZelNodes will change how we think of computational power, how we look at developing in the blockchain space, and sets a standard for how other projects will develop tech going forward. We have no intention to be “just another crypto project”, we intend to set the bar.

What’s to come in 2019

  • ZelNodes — The decentralized network of high-computational nodes to run dapps and smart contracts that incentivizes node operators. Powered by the Zel Community, the network will most likely number in the 100’s of servers at launch (Q1).
  • Project Paradigm — A “skunkworks” project for ZelCore that aims to drastically increase the functionality and adoption of the platform for all types of users (April 2019).
  • ZelDev — The developer’s framework to interact with the ZelNode network. This toolset will open up the power of decentralized applications and infrastructure to all 3rd party developers that wish to take part, using the widely-available programming language Javascript for ease-of-use (Q4).
  • ZelEx — The decentralized exchange natively built inside of ZelCore, and to run on the ZelNodes network infrastructure. The aim is to be much faster than current DEX offerings, while allowing usage right inside the wallet you use everyday, no multiple Tx’s or wallets (Q4).
  • Real-world use cases for ZelCash will be added throughout the year.
  • Partnerships with stable coins.

These are the highlights for 2019. Just like 2018, many more exciting events will transpire, some that we don’t foresee yet. Even with the current downturned market, very interesting and powerful ideas are beginning to use blockchain technology, and the best is yet to come.

Lastly, thanks to the Zel Community; the supporters, miners, traders, everyone that has helped the project get to this point. Without you, this project cannot be. Happy New Year!
